A - Masterful  The RRD shows evidence of the following:

• thorough peer reading by multiple readers, both peer and adult
• extensive revision of diction as shown by numerous deletions, replacements, and additions of words
• extensive revision of sentences as shown by obvious re-combinations of phrases and sentences
• extensive revision of paragraphs and ideas as shown by movement and reorganization throughout the paper
• various missteps in the process as shown by false-starts, re-starts, abandoned ideas, etc . . .
• willingness to reconsider even satisfactory work to explore possibilities and further improvement as shown by multiple versions of even good work from different points of view or in different styles or in different tones, etc.
• possible work in proofreading and editing as shown by corrections in the paper

B - Developing  The RRD shows evidence of the following (may include some traits of Masterful):

• thorough peer reading by at least one peer reader
• adequate revision of diction as shown by some deletions, replacements, and additions of words
• adequate revision of sentences as shown by some re-combinations of phrases and sentences
• adequate revision of paragraphs and ideas as shown by a few instances of movement and reorganization throughout the paper

• willingness to revise even satisfactory work to explore possibilities and further improvement as shown by multiple versions of even good work from different points of view or in different styles or in different tones, etc.

C - Limited  The RRD shows evidence of the following:

• adequate peer reading by one peer reader
• limited revision of diction as shown by only a few deletions, replacements, and additions of words
• limited revision of sentences as shown by very few re-combinations of phrases and sentences
• limited revision of paragraphs and ideas as shown by very little movement and reorganization throughout the paper

• a reluctance to revise even satisfactory work to explore possibilities and further improvement as shown by multiple versions of even good work from different points of view or in different styles or in different tones, etc.
