    a. Getting ready for vocabulary.
        1) Review p. 103 in literature book.
            a) Read selection at top of page for review.
            b) Types of context clues:
                 *Definition/Restatement; Examples; Comparison/Contrast
            c) Try Exs. 1-5 p. 103 - one at a time, together.
         2) Assign: Complete Context Clues Worksheet for HW.
             *Worksheet must be had in class - no online version available.
    b. Getting ready for figurative language: similes & metaphors
        1) Review the importance of VEHICLES.
        2) Discuss connotations - feelings evoked by the images of vehicles.
        3) Play serious version of The Metaphor Game, analyzing the vehicles we create for meaning.       

4. HW: Complete Context Clues Worksheet.
Tuesday 11/2
