2. Writer Workshop: The Pro-Con Essay

    a. Exchange Pro-Con Essay RDs and peer-read using the Revision Questions on p. 184-185.

    b. Once your peer-read is complete, revise to create your SRD and FC – due Thursday in Portfolio.

    c. We’ll have the computer labs Wednesday – Friday so you can polish your work.

3. Portfolio checks begin Wednesday.

4. Bring books tomorrow!
   

Tuesday

 

1. Journal: none
2. Take books back to Media Center.

3. Writer’s Workshop
    a. Review and discuss handout: What colleges expect.

    b. Finish any final revisions and polishing or Pro-Con Essay or Portfolio Prep.

4. Portfolio checks begin tomorrow.

 

Wednesday

 

1. Journal: none
2. Take books back to Media Center.

3. Writer Workshop: Final Application Essay Practice
    a. Select either essay 7 or 8 from the Application Essay handout.

    b. Use today to pre-write, organize, and draft.

    c. Because these are a little harder, feel free to ask questions and conference about your essays as needed.

    d. Finish up anything on your Pro-Con Essay.

4. Have Portfolio checked.

 

Thursday

 

1. Journal: none
2. Writer Workshop: Final Application Essay Practice
    a. Draft, peer-read, and revise Application Essay as needed.

    b. Use laptops to finish it up as time allows.

3. Have Portfolio checked if needed.

4. Select 2 pieces for Writing Portfolio and turn in.

    b. Complete Application Essay 7 or 8 and turn in SRD/FC for completion grade.
