Reminder: Turn in any late or revised work ASAP. 3. Reader's Workshop: Amy Tan's "Two Kinds"     a. Finish reading "Two Kinds" noting telling character details.         *Maybe do a little more modeled reading to refresh your memories.     b. Now, put it together (Pair & Share - take notes with GOs):          **USE TEXTUAL PROOF**         1) Characterize the mother and the daughter - GO 1         2) What does each learn by the end of the story? - GO 2         3) Theme? GO 2         4) Essential Question: How do one's Hopes and Dreams guide relationships? 4. HW: Finish up any individual "Two Kinds" work needed - G.O. 1, 2, & Essential Question response.

Share Themes and Essential Question responses.     c. Add "Two Kinds" to our Theme Wheel.     d. Turn in your "Two Kinds" GOs and writing. 4. Reader's Workshop: OMM     a. Discuss the book's ending.  Like/Dislike? Right/Wrong?     b. Relationships & Power: Predators vs. Prey.     c. Assign: Predator-Prey Worksheet. (Must get in class) Due tomorrow.         *Include page numbers for each answer! 5. HW: Finish Predator-Prey Worksheet.

Discuss the Predator-Prey mentality - how does it affect our hopes and dreams?     b. Assign: Sociogram     c. Create RD - you may work as far ahead as you like.     d. Teacher checking Predator-Prey Worksheets during work time. 4. HW: At least RD of Sociogram for tomorrow - should be done in class though.
