Your Anglo Saxon Resume’
Upon his arrival to help
Hrothgar, Beowulf recites a rather long-winded and self-glorifying speech (ll.
142-189) which essentially serves as his resume’. Now that you’ve arrived in our class, compose a similar resume’ about
yourself in which you discuss your past accomplishments and feats especially as
they demonstrate what you can contribute to the class. Whether you decide to do it in blank verse
(required for an A) or prose, make it one page long (SS) and be prepared
to present it to the class.
Some Guidelines
Try to maintain Beowulf’s
tone and attitude and remember that you are – according to our culture’s
definition – bragging.
Blank Verse is required for
an A.
Otherwise, you are simply
graded for professional presentation and honesty.
Good luck and have fun!
