1. Journal/Bell Ringer: Where do you stand on the whole “feminism” front? Explain. And reactions and questions – The Wife of Bath’s Prologue.

2. Business:

    a. eCampus post on A Knight's Tale - due anytime this week.

    b. Assign: Read NPs Tale for tomorrow.

3. Reader's Workshop

    a. In small groups, complete Wife of Bath Reading and Discussion guide.

    b. Reconvene in full group to report out and discuss the Wife's philosophies of life and love.

4. HW: 1) Chaucer Character due tomorrow; 2) eCampus post on A Knight's Tale - due anytime this week; 3) Read NPs Tale for Wednesday.

 

Tuesday 2/24

    b. Reminder: Read The Nun's Priest's Tale for tomorrow.

3. Chaucer Workshop - Bringing Chaucer to Life

    a. Get into costume.

    b. Go on our pilgrimage.

    c. Present!

Wednesday 2/25

3. Chaucer Correlated Writing Workshop

    a. NP’s Tale and Predestination.

    b. Assign Chaucer Correlated Writing.

    c. Review Research Process, if time.

    d. Discuss paper topics, if time.

Thursday 2/26  

 

1. Journal/Bell Ringer: Look over your Correlated Writing assignment and consider the topics.  If you already know what you want to do, jot down what you already know about your topic. If you don't, jot down ideas about the top two or three you are considering.

2. Business: Goal: to have enough info by Monday to be able to ask questions and comment upon you topic.

3. Correlated Writing Workshop (Laptops)

    a. Review Research Process, if needed.

    b.  Discuss paper topics.

    c. Small group meetings by topic: Use Prelim Research Guide – each member should take notes as you go:
       1) First, find the source of your topic in The NP’s Tale. Be able to quote references to it and explain it in your own words.
       2) Next, examine your topic from both required points of view – medieval and modern. Write down everything you know. Write down everything you don’t know in the form of questions.
       3) Finally, jot out a research plan and try to focus your research - use laptopswhat is the essential question of your study?
    e. Have notes checked last five minutes of the period.
    f. Goal: to have enough info by Monday to be able to ask questions and comment upon you topic.

Friday 2/27

2. Business: Goal: to have enough info by Monday to be able to ask questions and comment upon you topic - with research cites!

3. Miscellaneous Workshop

    a. Catch up day for any of the following: AS/Beowulf projects, Chaucer Characters, Wife of Bath Prologue.

    b. Review and discuss Correlate Writing.

4. (Alternate plan IF we can get laptops) Correlated Writing Workshop

    a. Research continued: Gathering, sorting, and sifting information.

    b. Do not forget your MLA information.

    c. Finish research and create outline for your paper.

5. HW: Finish preliminary research.  Complete outline.
