4. HW: 1) Finish reading Prologue; 2) Medieval Study Guides.

 

Tuesday 2/10

 

1. Journal/Bell Ringer: First impressions of Chaucer's style, characterizations, and humor.  End by concisely describing the "contest" they are going to have.

2. Business:

    a. Turn in any: A/S Projects; Medieval Study Guides.

    b. Assign: RDs of THREE character poems due tomorrow.

3. Reader's Workshop - Chaucer

    Discuss Prologue: techniques and characterization.

    *iambic pentameter, rhymed couplets, sense of humor, specific details

4. Chaucer Writing Workshop

    a. Take your Character Descriptions from last Friday's journal and turn them into rhymed iambic pentameter.

    b. Use Chaucer's rhythm, rhyme, sense of irony and humor, use of details.

    c. About 20 lines each for THREE characters.

    d. Compose RDs and finish for HW.

5. HW: 1) Finish RDs of THREE character poems; 2) Medieval Study Guides.

 

Wednesday 2/11 (teacher out for curriculum)

1. Journal/Bell Ringer: none

2. Business:

    a. Reminder: Medieval Study Guides due anytime this week.

    b. Assign: Character Verse: Select best one to revise & create final copy and post on eCampus by tba.

3. Chaucer Writing Workshop

    a. Peer reading of Character Verse.

    b. Choose one to revise now.

    c. Finish and post online by tba - all three drafts will be turned in.

4. HW: Finish Character Verse FC and post online by Wednesday; 2) Medieval SG due by tomorrow.
